At Sir John Moore C.E. Primary School, we agree that ‘A good early education is the foundation for later success.’ Our Acorns class, which now includes Reception and Year 1 pupils, provides a stimulating learning environment filled with exciting and fun activities both inside the classroom and in our outdoor learning area. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for Reception pupils and continue to build on this foundation in Year 1. Learning happens through play, exploration, and discovery alongside more formal teaching of reading, phonics, and maths. This balanced approach ensures that pupils develop a love of learning and the essential skills needed for their future education.
